The legal tender Silver Eagle Dollar was struck at the U.S. Mint under an Act of Congress and is beautifully colorized in a limited edition. (The colorization is added privately because the U.S. Mint is unable to add colorizing to coins.) The coin is struck in one ounce of .999 pure silver, so it is the largest and heaviest silver coin ever struck by the U.S. Mint. It is also the world’s most popular silver bullion coin.
