Cold weather is particularly hard on your cuticles and fingernails. Many men and women suffer with cracked and bleeding cuticles, which not only open the door for infections, but can be a direct cause of fingernail problems. Taking care of your cuticles is as important as a manicure.
If you already have dry cuticles, you probably have the urge to pick at them, making the problem worse. Yet they’re all but impossible to ignore as they snag on clothing, tear, rip, and generally cause irritation and discomfort.
So what’s the deal? How can you treat your cuticles right? How can you get them healthy again? It’s pretty easy. They need moisture. Because of the physiology of cuticles, lotions aren’t enough. Lotions give temporary relief, but only for a few minutes to an hour or two.
Fortunately, there’s a fix for that. Rx4Nails offers Intensive Night Care (INC) in a small, portable tub. People often call me to ask if they should use it instead of the oil. My general answer is no. Use the oil as you normally do (if you are using it), but put your second dose of oil on while you’re relaxing before bed. When you’re ready for bed, swipe a bit of the Intensive Night Care over each cuticle. Since you’re sleeping, and your hands are nice and toasty, and you’re not washing them for a few hours, so the product has plenty of time to penetrate, and not only restore your cuticles to a healthy state–it also helps nourish your nails.
